Meet Mark Ludak , a photographer and Specialist Professor of Art & Design at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. Mark received an M.F.A. in Photography from the City University of New York at Hunter College.
Ludak has worked as a documentary photographer, photojournalist and fine artist for over twenty years. Clients have included The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer , Philadelphia Daily News, Time, Newsweek, Der Spiegel, Focus, Utne Reader, In These Times, Mother Jones, Vanity Fair, The Chronicle of Higher Education and ABC News-Nightline. He has received commissions from non-governmental organizations and corporations including Apple, Johnson & Johnson, Environmental Defense Fund, The Russell Byers Foundation, Solebury Township Land Preservation Program, Ford Foundation, Amnesty International, People for the American Way and International Organization for Women and Development. His work has been exhibited most recently at the Princeton Public Library, Pollak Gallery at Monmouth University, Boston University-Photographic Resource Center, Noyes Museum of Art, Monmouth University-DiMattio Gallery & Ice House Gallery, Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie Mansion, Riverrun Gallery and DFN Gallery in New York. His work has been exhibited most recently at the Princeton Public Library, Pollak Gallery at Monmouth University, Boston University-Photographic Resource Center, Noyes Museum of Art, Monmouth University-DiMattio Gallery & Ice House Gallery, Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie Mansion, Riverrun Gallery and DFN Gallery in New York. Recent recognition for his commissioned work includes an American Graphic Design Award from GDUSA (2017), Hermes Creative Award (2016-Platinum-Annual Report), MarCom Award (2015 Gold-University Publication) and a Collegiate Advertising Award (Gold-2015). He is a recipient of a Keystone Press Award for Excellence in Journalism and a 2016 recipient of the Puffin Foundation Grant for Photography. He has received a Grant in Aid of Creativity-Monmouth University and an Urban Coast Institute Grant. Most recently he has been working on projects in in Nicaragua, Vietnam, Rwanda and the United States.
